Humble potter-saint of Maharashtra, symbol of surrender and unwavering devotion to Lord Vitthalसंत गोराकुंभार महाराष्ट्र के 13वीं सदी के संत थे, जिनकी भक्ति भगवान विठ्ठल के प्रति अत्यंत गहन और अटूट थी।
Sant Gora Kumbhar was a 13th-century saint from Ter in Maharashtra, remembered for his deep, simple, and unshakable devotion to Lord Vitthal. A potter by profession, Gora saw his work as worship — shaping clay with his hands while chanting the Lord’s name with his heart. His most heartbreaking and divine moment came when, in a trance of devotion, he accidentally crushed his own child under the clay press — yet remained unaware, lost in God's name. This act, though tragic, was seen as the ultimate test of surrender. But Lord Vitthal, moved by his bhakti, restored the child to life. Gora Kumbhar’s life speaks of complete surrender — where even the greatest pain becomes a stepping stone to the divine. His songs and legacy remain an integral part of Maharashtra’s spiritual tradition.
