Varkari saint-poet who spread Vitthala devotion and equality through soulful Marathi bhaktiसंत एकनाथ जी, महाराष्ट्र के पैठण में एक ब्राह्मण परिवार में जन्मे, वर्करी परंपरा के महान संत थे जिनकी विठ्ठल (कृष्ण) भक्ति उनके जीवन और कविताओं में स्पष्ट झलकती है।
Sant Eknath Ji, born in a Brahmin family in Paithan, Maharashtra, was a saint of the Varkari tradition whose love for Lord Vitthala (Krishna) radiated through his poetry and life. He translated the Bhagavad Gita into Marathi, making its wisdom accessible to all. Deeply moved by social injustice, he broke caste barriers and shared food and compassion with the untouchables, challenging orthodox norms. His compositions like 'Bhavarth Ramayana' and abhangas were filled with humility, surrender, and profound insight. Even when insulted, he remained calm, always seeing Vitthala in all beings. His life exemplifies how true bhakti is not in rituals, but in love, service, and equality.
